Wi-fi or Wireless Fidelity is a facility which allows computers, smartphones and other network access devices to connect to the internet or communicate with one another wirelessly within a particular area. It is a radio signal sent from a wireless router to nearby devices, which translates the signal in the form of data. The device transmits a radio signal back to the router, which connects to the internet by wire or cable. As a basic concept of network technology we can say that it is simply an internet connection which is shared with multiple devices in a home or business via a wireless router. The router is connected directly to the internet modem which acts as a hub to broadcast the internet signal to all Wi-Fi enabled devices.
